Emergent recently finished this 90-year-old historic home on Meridian Street. “Our customer had a vision of enjoying an enlarged kitchen floor plan, a revitalized laundry room and a spa-like master bathroom update,” said Emergent CEO, Matt Troyer. “When we get the privilege to help reinvent a home like this in a historic part of our city, we take pride is assessing the original architecture and providing our clients with an updated plan that sticks true to the period it was originally built for in order to seamlessly blend the old with the new.”

A talented team of craftsmen and designers at Emergent carefully selected styles and finishes that reflected the home’s natural bones, but met the needs of a modern day family. Though the structure might have been 90 years old, all of the amenities that a family looks for today to meet their lifestyle were included in this drastic facelift.

One unique feature of Emergent Construction is the fact that even though they’re a general contractor, they also have a custom cabinet shop working directly in-line with project managers and designers, all housed under one roof in their new headquarters in the up-and coming Kennedy/King neighborhood. “That’s different from a lot of builders,” Troyer adds. “Our craftsmen do all the finish carpentry in-house versus hiring subcontractors. Clients appreciate that local craftsmen touch, and that’s the vibe we’re trying to put out.”
