Steel House has been venturing into the custom interior designing and fabrication for residential accent pieces recently. Drew Hanthorn, Vice President of Steel House, is particularly excited about the company’s contribution to the Indianapolis Monthly Dream Home.

“The current work we are doing for the Dream Home is all decorative steel,” Hanthorn says. “We designed and built one-of-a-kind steel accent pieces throughout the home. We were asked to fabricate a railing that, to our knowledge, had never been done before.”

Instead of a typical horizontal line cable railing, Steel House designed and fabricated a zig zag pattern, utilizing components specially ordered from Australia. For the exterior railings, the designer wanted to pushed the envelope even further by randomizing the cable lines.

Along with the railings, Steel House also designed a steel pergola for the Dream Home’s pool area that is a piece of art all on its own. “It combines our structural know-how with our artistic abilities, to produce another one-of-a-kind feature that any homeowner would be thrilled to call their own,” Hanthorn says. “Finally, we are producing custom steel counter tops for a conversation pit at the dream home. The steel counter tops bring a touch of industrial to a masterfully designed modern living space.”

Whether it’s a custom fireplace mantel made of a steel beam, custom bookshelves, custom desks, or custom wall coverings, Steel House is willing to go the extra mile to give their customers exactly what they want.
