The Crew at Christina’s Complete Clean are Reliable, Responsible and Educated
by Christy Heitger-Ewing
Locally grown and woman-owned, Christina’s Complete Clean, which has been in business for 13 years, recently added another element to their already high-quality service. They just started to host a twice-a-year housecleaning technician course in which housekeepers from around the region can come to gain knowledge in the industry.
“This hands-on course sets us apart from other cleaning services in that we care a great deal about making sure that everyone is up-to-date on information and trends,” says Christina Garten, owner of the company. The two-day course offers instruction on everything from the chemistry of cleaning to an in-depth study on proper cleaning techniques. At the conclusion of the class, participants must pass a 160-question test.
This knowledge is important because making one tiny mistake can add up to big bucks. For instance, marble can etch by being exposed to just a little bit of acidity. So, during class, instructors run a drop of vinegar on a marble sample to demonstrate how just one drop can ruin a countertop.
Garten is passionate about ensuring that everyone who works for her is not only knowledgeable and experienced in the field but also honest, trustworthy, and responsible. Because sadly, not all cleaning companies have a stringent vetting process. She recently talked with a man who shared how his wife had hired a housecleaning company to come in following his back surgery. When the gal showed up to do the work, the homeowner started making small talk, asking how long she had been with the company. It wasn’t long. In fact, both she and her cleaning partner admitted that they had just been released from jail for armed robbery.
“It really is so important that you know the proper questions to ask when hiring a cleaning company,” says Garten. “People often ask the basic ones to find out if they are bonded or insured, but there are some other pertinent things to ask, too.”
For instance: Do you bring your own supplies? What type of equipment and chemicals do you use? How many staff members do you have? How many people will typically come to clean my house? Will I get the same person each time? Do you perform background checks? Do you take credits cards? Are your teams okay with pets? Do I have to be home or is it okay if we’re home? How is my information kept safe (e.g., access codes, credit card info, etc.)?
If you are interested in joining this dynamite cleaning team or participating in the next housecleaning technician course, contact Garten today. “We are a solid company who is always searching for talented, reliable people,” says Garten.
“We are in it to win it, meaning we’re not some fly-by-night company that’s going to fold in a few months. We are proud to serve the Indianapolis area.”
