Everyone loves a good party, but event styles are constantly changing through influence by celebrities, movies, weddings, and interior design. It can be hard to keep up. While hiring an event planner certainly takes the stress out of event design and organization, sometimes it’s fun to DIY. Here are four decorating trends we’re excited about this year.
PURPOSEFUL AND INSPIRATIONAL COLOR:
When choosing color schemes, think about what you want guests to feel. Red evokes passion, love or intense energy. Green reminds guests of nature, quality, and healing. Choosing colors with a purpose instead of choosing “what looks good,” can have a big impact on your event.
GREENERY WALLS & VERTICAL GARDENS:
Bring the outside in and use greenery to create backdrops and wall decor that screams ambient serenity. Not only are florals and greenery flexible and versatile, but they bring a decadent elegance to your event that will impress your guests.
LESS IS MORE:
If it doesn’t “bring you joy” then it shouldn’t be used at your event. Minimalist design has been trending for a few years and that’s largely in part because clean, well-designed spaces allow invitees to absorb more of what’s going on around them.
GREAT-GATSBY MAKES A COMEBACK:
The “Roaring ‘20s” return to 2020 with mixed metallics, elaborate beadwork, and sparkly sequins that were popular in the Art Deco era. This style trend is perfect for bold, glamorous events such as fundraisers and galas.
Whether you’re planning your own event or hire a planner like evoke events, these decor trends are great ways to mix in a little sophistication and give your guests “one-of-a-kind” experiences that will keep them talking about your event in the best way.
