Wow! All we can say is that we are truly blown away by the response to the 2020 First Internet Bank Home-A-Rama! Eleven amazing custom homes, built by BAGI builders, were featured in the stunning new community of Holliday Farms, a luxury custom home community and Pete Dye designed golf course located in the heart of Zionsville, Indiana. Over the course of the 3-week event, 11,375 people attended Home-A-Rama in-person, selling out each and every arrival time block available and providing an incredible opportunity to showcase all that is possible in new home building.
Trends
The Home-A-Rama builders pulled out all the stops this year! Whether you were looking for decorating ideas, suppliers for home updates, or a builder for your dream home, here are some of the show-stopping trends we saw: Indoor-outdoor living was a definite focal point. These outdoor spaces are truly serving as an extension of the home – many equipped with retractable screens, fireplaces, smart pergolas, and bar space.
The stunning golf course property views and wooded landscape were maximized by expansive windows, accentuating natural light throughout the homes.
Dedicated office space, or zoom rooms as we like to call them, are making a huge come back! Many families are opting for more segmented or multi-functional space to work or study in, as opposed to office space in the open concept.
Wine storage – need we say more? From classic cellar vibes to glass encased modern designs, the Home-A-Rama homes were not lacking in wine storage.
The latest and greatest technology has taken precedent in the past few years, and this year is no exception! We especially saw an increased reliance on hands-free, motion-sensored, and voice activated automation for everything from lights to appliances.
Speaking of technology, we also saw some pretty innovative projection big screens. Whether it’s game day or movie night, these basement set ups would never disappoint!
Kitchens and master baths continue to be wow factors, featuring mixed materials and fixtures, top-of-the line appliances, and rainfall showers alongside freestanding bath tubs
And last but not least, a couple standouts: from a 17ft. climbing wall, designated bourbon room, golf simulator, butler’s pantries and prep kitchens for ease of entertaining, hidden doors, and impeccable finishes, the Home-A-Rama builders thought of everything!
Safety Measures
Increased safety precautions were implemented for the on-site experience to provide a safe environment for attendees. Tickets were sold in advance online by arrival time blocks in order to effectively spread out guests and allow for better social distancing throughout the homes and event site. This proved to be effective as each 30-minute arrival time completely sold out while still maintaining on-site capacities approved by the Boone County Health Department. This approach, coupled with extensive cleaning and sanitizing enhancements, allowed guests to comfortably explore the homes with peace of mind.
Virtual Experience
This year, First Internet Bank Home-A-Rama debuted an all NEW Virtual Experience. For the first time, all eleven homes could be viewed online with exclusive behind the-scenes videos, interactive 3D tours and inspiring photography. This allowed many out-of-town guests, relocating customers, and home-bound attendees the chance to still fully experience everything Home-A-Rama has to offer! Virtual attendees could message the builders and ask questions about each home in the Guest Book, as well as learn more about many of the fixtures and finishes throughout each home via the 3D virtual tour and save photos to their Favorites.
Although the in-person Home-A-Rama ended on October 4th, the GREAT news is that tickets to the online Virtual Experience are still available and will continue to be sold through the remainder of 2020. Don’t miss your chance to see the homes!
Realtor Day
Realtor Day took place on September 24th and was met with similar enthusiasm. Active realtors could attend with free entry on this day by registering in advance, and these registrations hit our max capacity within 36 hours of making the site available! Realtors flocked to Home-A-Rama to explore the homes and were greeted by sponsors offering giveaways throughout the event site.
A Moment of Gratitude
We would be remiss not to thank our title sponsor, First Internet Bank, for their INCREDIBLE partnership and dedication to make this show possible. We can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support!
To the 11 participating builders in this year’s show – you defied odds and surpassed expectations to build these outstanding homes in the midst of an uncertain time. Your tenacity and visions have paid off, and you should be so proud of the work you’ve done.
It takes an army to create masterpieces like these homes. Thanks to every single vendor, supplier, and laborer who dedicated their time and expertise to bring these homes to life!
Thank you to Holliday Farms and the Town of Zionsville for working with us and being such outstanding hosts.
To our numerous sponsors and partners involved in the show, Tom Wood Automotive Group, Haven Media, and our media partner WTHR, we appreciate your contribution in making this Home-A-Rama a success!
Thanks to our phenomenal volunteers and staff who take care of the behind the-scenes operations of the show – this event could not happen without every single one of you.
And finally thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy the show either in person or virtually. We hope you have been inspired to dream and know where to go to make those dreams a reality!
