When you’re building a house, you want it done right every step of the way. Ben Davis, owner of BBG Construction, could not agree more.
“It may sound cliché, but my promise to our customers is quality, which is why I partner with Custom Concrete,” says Davis, a boutique builder who works directly with each of his clients throughout the homebuilding process. “It all starts with the foundation because if the foundation is inaccurate the rest of the house will be incorrect.”
Custom Concrete gets things right by utilizing their “Billion Points of Light” technology, a tool that essentially captures billions of data points that are then pulled into an AutoCAD, which enables the Custom Concrete team to take measurements and create 3-D renderings of the foundation.
“We ‘shoot’ the lot with our laser scan tool. Then pull that information to review with builders and homeowners,” says Chris Stormer, Vice President of Residential Sales for Custom Concrete. This means that builders like BBG can digitally review what the foundation will look like without having to step foot on the job site. Plus, if an adjustment needs to be made to the foundation, the team can quickly pull up the schematics of the CAD light picture to determine whether or not the change is viable.
BBG Construction has a featured home in this year’s Home-A-Rama. Custom Concrete’s unique technology benefitted BBG as they worked out the home’s complicated walk-out basement.
“It’s a funky lot with a unique slope so the Billion Points of Light was a tremendous help in figuring out [the logistics of building the foundation while] still getting the pretty golf course view,” says Davis.
